Today I’ve been playing my fingers bloody on the bass…

Today I’ve been playing my fingers bloody on the bass…a little super glue never hurt anyone, right?

Sounding good though guys, I can already say it’s gonna be another classic in the making, especially now with loads and loads of bass all over it. heehee!

I’ve been keeping myself busy of late, as you can imagine, with putting the finishing touches to my very own album, which I can’t wait until it’s out in the open…still feels like a naughty secret at the moment, but with all my anxious feelings and apparently lots of sleep talking, it’s all very exciting and I hope you’ll like it.

Been awhile since we’ve kept in touch, so there’s lots to catch up on…mmm…

I’ll start off by saying…I’ve been listening to some great new records that I got for my birthday (I’m still 26 magically, weird that, though I’m not complaining) one of my fav’s is the Gillian Welch & David Rawlings album ‘The Harrow & The Harvest’ truly amazing record, I sometimes do a cover of her ‘Wrecking Ball’ (the live version with Old Crow Medicine show) and since then I think I own everything by the both of them now…(well almost everything).

Oh and I love the My Morning Jacket album also, (Circuital) ‘Holding on to Black Metal’ first heard this in the splitter van driving up to a festival we were playing…blasting from the speakers came this song from a CD that Romeo made for the journey (his famous ‘on the road’ compilations). We love these guys, if you’ve not heard the record yet you have to…’Moving Away’ makes me cry every time.

Of course what came on a little later was ‘I can’t live, if living is without you’, which I’m sure you all know that guilty pleasure.

Seems like all my personal favourites have released some great records these couple of months, so I’ve been happy…

Listening to Ryan Adams ‘Ashes & Fire’ last night again on repeat – red wine, bath, perfect!

Always looking for old/new music…let us know what you’re listening to at the moment, guilty or classic, or even just something you think we must have in our lives.

Speak soon guys

Love Michele xx

    Hi Michele

I’ve been listening to Rumours today and remembering the brilliant finale to this year’s Truck Festival!
There are some people that I have to listen to regularly, like drinking water. And if I don’t it’s always a shock when I hear them again. “Why haven’t I listened to you for so long?”

And for me it is Jason Molina whose bands are Songs:Ohia and Magnolia Electric Co.
His voice is just so incredible. So much life, turmoil and history in every song. check him out if you don’t know his stuff. ‘Fading Trails’ is a good compilation of the Magnolia Electric Co. stuff.

    Hi Michele,

So glad you have this blog! It’s great to be able to communicate with you folks. Can’t wait to be able to see you in the states…any plans? Thank you all so much for your beautiful songs…here’s to a great New Year from all of us! Tony

  4. Michele, ‘Take Your Loving Back’ is the most beautiful song I’ve heard this century! I saw the Crypt vid first and loved it, but the .mp3 (home recording master) is even better! Gonna get your stuff on vinyl as well as more of the MN stuff ASAP! It’d be a dream to someday have the honor to record something with you.

Stuff that has been constantly playing for me has been Laura marling’a A creature I don’t know, the sound track from the film Cold Mountain, especially jack white and Nickel Creek’s why should the die.

That said,I never get that far away from Neil Young.
